Birthdays at Cabot Cove of Largo - July 2022

Toast, Clink, Cheers! Happy Hour with Lou

Thursdays afternoons at Cabot Cove have turned into quite a social engagement for many of the residents. Everyone has come to enjoy some good music with Louie of course some cocktails and good times together! At a recent social we all raised a toast to an exquisite time, clinked our glasses with our friends, “cheers” to making new memories and making new friends and just having a good time. The cherry on top truly is being around such wonderful individuals. We hope to see you all every Thursday at 3:00pm for good music and drinks.

CONCIERGE CONNECTION:
Meet Jane!

Value of therapy - assisted living community resident storyMeet Jane! She is one of our active residents here at Cabot Cove. She never misses a game of BINGO or POKENO, and whatever you do, don’t ask her to leave the table! Before joining the Cabot Cove family in July of 2021, Jane spent some time in the hospital and rehab. When she first arrived, she was weak and required assistance for all her mobility needs. She was in a wheelchair and unable to ambulate or move around independently. We met Jane shortly after her arrival when her physician ordered home health care for strengthening. Although weak and lethargic, she had a strong will and told our therapy team that her goal was to walk again. Challenge accepted! Jane participated in physical and occupational therapy with Concierge Home Care, formerly Fusion HealthCare. There were days when she was tired and really didn’t feel like participating. However, she always tried and never gave up. Jane progressed very well under home health care but still was not able to walk by herself. She wanted to continue therapy so that she could regain her independence. She transferred from home healthcare to outpatient physical therapy, where she continued to work on strengthening, balancing, and walking. Jane approached therapy with a positive attitude and was always motivated by whatever challenges her therapist came up with for the day, no matter how difficult. Today Jane is INDEPENDENT with her mobility, and walks with her walker to all her meals and activities! She is an example of what it looks like to stay determined! Way to go Jane!
